MaXpeedingrods Introduces J5 and J6 Stage1 Turbocharger Families

PR Newswire

MaXpeedingrods is expanding its performance turbocharger range with the new J5 and J6 Stage1 Turbocharger families. The J5 uses a full floating journal bearing system, while the J6 Stage1 features a dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge and a speed sensor port on selected configurations. A phased launch is planned to begin in November 2026.

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — MaXpeedingrods develops performance and replacement automotive parts for customers worldwide. The J5 and J6 Stage1 Turbocharger families expand its existing turbocharger range with more choices for enthusiasts, workshops and distributors planning performance builds.

MaXpeedingrods Introduces J5 and J6 Stage1 Turbocharger Families

New journal bearing and dual ceramic ball bearing options give performance builders more choice across a wide range of engine combinations

A Configurable Platform for Different Performance Goals

The two families give builders a choice of turbocharger sizes and turbine housing A/R options, making it possible to select a configuration around the engine’s displacement, power target, installation layout and desired response. The range will also include different turbine housing inlet options. Standard- or reverse-rotation configurations will be available on selected models.

Each product listing will identify the applicable A/R ratios, flange arrangements, housing options and operating limits. Builders and workshops can use those details to compare configurations and plan the supporting engine setup.

Both families pair a silicon-molybdenum cast-iron turbine housing with a K418 nickel-based superalloy turbine wheel. These materials are selected for the heat and mechanical loads encountered in performance applications. A compressor wheel CNC-machined from forged aluminum billet completes the rotating assembly and features a hard-anodized gold finish. Operating limits will be specified for individual configurations to support informed product selection.

J5 Turbocharger: Full Floating Journal Bearing for Versatile Performance Builds

The J5 uses a full floating journal bearing system, a familiar design for workshops working with performance turbochargers. Its serviceable center section makes the J5 a practical choice for builders looking to balance performance goals, maintenance needs and overall project cost.

The J5 also offers an accessible entry point into the new range. For performance-oriented builds where cost, serviceability and configuration choice all matter, its journal bearing design provides a straightforward, flexible foundation.

The J6 Stage1 Turbocharger: Dual Ceramic Ball Bearings and Speed Sensor Readiness

The J6 Stage1 features a dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge for builders seeking a more response-focused setup. Bearing design is one part of how boost develops; engine displacement, compressor and turbine sizing, housing A/R, exhaust manifold design and calibration also influence the result. The available J6 Stage1 configurations give tuners options to match the turbocharger to the intended engine setup.

Selected J6 Stage1 compressor housings will include a machined port for a compatible turbo speed sensor. When the required sensor and data acquisition hardware are installed, tuners can record shaft speed during calibration and monitor operation relative to the turbocharger’s specified speed limit. Sensor and accessory availability will be listed with the relevant configuration.

Verification, Product Data and Availability

Every J5 and J6 Stage1 center housing rotating assembly undergoes high-speed VSR balance verification. Complete turbochargers and supercores will be supplied with the corresponding VSR balance report, documenting the final balance verification before shipment.

MaXpeedingrods will publish compressor maps for selected configurations to help builders assess turbocharger options. Vehicle dyno results are also planned for selected applications and will include the engine setup and test conditions needed to interpret the figures.

The first configurations are planned for release beginning in November 2026, with additional configurations following in phases. Product listings will provide compressor and turbine wheel dimensions, A/R choices, flange options, operating limits and available supporting data as each model becomes available.

U.S. availability and permitted use vary by jurisdiction and application. Installation and calibration must comply with applicable federal, state and local emissions requirements and must not disable or render inoperative required emissions-control systems. J5 and J6 Stage1 products are not offered for sale in California or New York. Customers should confirm applicable emissions requirements before purchase and installation. Actual vehicle performance may vary depending on engine setup, supporting components, calibration and operating conditions.
