Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ: GNSS), the global leader in Protective Communications™, today announced a strategic partnership with Intterra to deliver full two-way integration between the Intterra Aware platform and Genasys Protect.
Earlier this year, CAL FIRE selected Intterra’s AwareCA as California’s new statewide public safety information platform to deliver fast, trusted, first-responder–verified updates to every person living in or visiting the state. Intterra’s AwareCA app is scheduled to be available for download this month from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The integration of the Intterra Aware platform and Genasys Protect will enable agencies participating in AwareCA to initiate evacuation communications directly within Intterra’s Aware Intel Hub and Aware Ops, instantly delivering authoritative information to the public through AwareCA. Agencies using Genasys Protect will be able to input evacuation alerts, warnings, and orders directly into AwareCA, ensuring faster, broader, and more trusted life-safety notifications.
Robert Wolf, CEO at Intterra, said, “Evacuation orders are life-or-death decisions — there is no margin for delay, distortion, or secondhand interpretation. The public should never have to rely on radio chatter or social media to understand when to act. Those orders must come directly from Incident Command and be clearly identified as official. Through our partnership with Genasys, the moment an evacuation order is issued, AwareCA delivers it instantly to the public — verified, authoritative, and directly from the source. That’s what it means to trust the badge.”
Stephen Sickler, Vice President of Genasys SaaS Field Operations, said, “This strategic partnership combines vital platforms public safety agencies rely on to make critical decisions. California agencies using Genasys Protect will soon be able to push zone-based alerts to the AwareCA app in real time, maximizing clarity, accuracy, and trust during rapidly evolving incidents.”
Intterra is actively working to expand the AwareCA model and its Aware platform across the U.S., so every state has the same access to authoritative emergency information.
