Evolution Hospitality Appoints Matthew Boettcher as Senior Vice President, Operations

Evolution Hospitality, a subdivision of Aimbridge Hospitality specializing in lifestyle, boutique, and soft-brand hotels, has appointed Matthew Boettcher as Senior Vice President, Operations. Boettcher brings over 25 years of experience spanning hospitality operations, brand strategy, and food and beverage (F&B) initiatives within the lifestyle, boutique, and soft-brand segments.

In this role, Boettcher will lead operations across Evolution’s lifestyle, soft-brand, and premium portfolio, driving improvements in property performance, owner returns, and guest experiences. His appointment also positions Evolution to capitalize on the growing interest in lifestyle and boutique hotels among investors and consumers.

“As lifestyle and soft brands remain one of the fastest-growing segments in hospitality, the expectations from both owners and guests have never been higher,” said Chris Tatum, President of Full Service Division for Aimbridge and Evolution Hospitality. “Matthew brings the leadership, operational depth, and F&B track record we need to meet and exceed those expectations as we further expand our position in the segment. He’s uniquely positioned to deliver distinctive experiences that drive strong results and increase profitability for owners.”

Boettcher most recently served as Vice President and Category Leader, Premium & Endorsed Brands for Marriott International, where he led strategic initiatives for a portfolio of brands, including Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, Westin, Renaissance, and Le Méridien. In this role, he oversaw brand operations, supporting a broad portfolio of properties and growth, while advancing brand positioning, guest experience innovation and owner returns.

Evolution will also benefit from Boettcher’s track record in F&B innovation. A sommelier with experience spanning luxury fine dining to large-scale premium hotel operations, he has designed distinctive bar & restaurant programs that strengthen brand identity, deliver operational excellence, improve F&B profitability and create elevated guest experiences.

“I’m thrilled to join Evolution Hospitality at this important moment for the company,” said Boettcher. “The lifestyle and soft brand segments represent some of the most dynamic opportunities in hospitality. Evolution has built a strong foundation of operational excellence and owner partnerships, and I look forward to working with this talented team and supporting our Evolution general managers & associates to create memorable experiences that meet modern travel demand.”

Boettcher received a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary and a B.S., Hospitality & Tourism Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He will be based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area and report to Tatum.
